Hi Everyone:

We recently had a scammer who took our online bulletin and texted the phone numbers of our heads of Ministry saying that “Fr. Chris” needed them to contact him immediately. They asked for Google Play cards to be purchased for “my niece”.

We wanted to take this opportunity to remind everyone – NO ONE FROM THE OFFICE WILL EVER INITIATE A TEXT OR EMAIL TO YOU ASKING YOU FOR PERSONAL OR FINANCIAL INFORMATION or asking you to provide anything of monetary value.

If in doubt, always take the time to call our office during office hours (865-689-7011) if you question a message you have received. If it is outside office hours, then it is definitely not from us and you can feel confident waiting to contact us via phone when our office is opened again.

The privacy and safety of our Parishioners is of the utmost importance to us. It is always better to be safe. If ever in doubt, err on the side of assuming a suspicious email or text is not from us, and then contact us via phone to let us know you have received something you think is suspicious.

Thanks to you all for all you do for our Parish Family. Despite negative things like this in the world, people like you bring Christ into our lives so we can always refocus on the positive!
