CWOM: Programs
Year Round Projects:
Prayer Blanket Ministry- volunteers make blankets that are blessed by one of our Parish Priests or Deacons and then these are hand delivered to those who are having surgery or suffering from chronic or life-threatening illnesses.
Healthcare Committee- Health care professionals provide coverage for all Masses as First Aid Responders. Blood pressure screening is provided once a month after each Mass.
Volunteer Ministry Mission- volunteers prepare a vegetable casserole or dessert, and other volunteers can deliver the dishes to Volunteer Ministry Mission. Volunteers can also prepare means on site and assist with serving those who are homeless or in rehabilitation programs. We serve on the last Friday of each month.
Meals Ministry- volunteers provide meals, on a short term basis, to Parish members in need of assistance following hospitalization. Volunteers help to prepare and deliver meals
Bereavement Luncheon- volunteers prepare a meal for family and friends following Funeral Masses at the Parish. Volunteers are asked to prepare one dish to bring to the luncheon and to help serve and/or clean-up.
Grocery Certificates- after weekend Masses on Saturday and Sunday each weekend, volunteers sell Kroger, Ingles, and Food City Grocery Gift Cards and 5% of the money comes back to the Parish to help those most in need through CWOM assistance/charity to the Community.
Seasonal Projects:
Christmas Food Baskets - volunteers prepare food baskets for needy families in our parish and our community.
Christmas Giving Tree - preparations begin in early October, the lists are distributed to the parish at large and are collected throughout the month of November. Gifts are wrapped and delivered to families and agencies in December.
Souper Bowl Collection - Each year on Super Bowl Sunday the parish collects food for area food pantries.
Lenten project (Easter Baskets) - During Lent we will sponsor a collection of Easter baskets, books, school supplies, and food for the children in Appalachia.
School Supplies - Late Summer each year we sponsor a collection for school supplies and back to school clothing for area schools and children in Appalachia.
